Register as a supplier
There are many options to do business with the City. Business owners and entrepreneurs are required to register as a supplier in order to capitalise on these options. The registration process is a two-phase process.
Register with the Central Suppliers Database
Before you register as a supplier, you must register with the National Treasury
Central Suppliers Database (CSD).
Step 1: Register with the Central Suppliers Database.
To register, you will need:
- company name
- company registration number
- income tax number
- VAT number
- bank details
- physical and postal address
- not more than 30 business commodities and a good description of each
Step 2: Once you have registered, you will be issued with a CSD registration number.
PLEASE NOTE
The e-Services application does not fully support mobile phone or tablet access – please use your laptop or desktop instead.
Our applications are best viewed using the latest versions of the following web browsers:
Microsoft Edge 138+, Google Chrome 138+, Mozilla Firefox 139+, Apple Safari 18+, Internet Explorer 11 – Final version: 11.0.9600.22617 (Note: End of Life – use Microsoft Edge in IE Mode if required).
Register supplier self-service
The next step in registering as a supplier is to
activate supplier self-service, which can be accessed using your
e-services account.
Step 1: Log into your account and select 'New e-Services portal', then select 'Service registration for supplier self-service'.
Step 2: Fill in the information required by the service activation wizard. If you are unsure of what to do, please see our Individual Suppliers Self-service Registration Guide in the document section below.
Organisations and businesses can consult the Organisation Supplier Self-Service Registration Guide, also at the bottom of the page.
To activate supplier self-service, you will need:
- supplier number
- ID number
- business number
- scanned copy of ID for upload
Step 3: Once you have completed the activation, you will receive an email confirming approval once all your information has been processed.
Community based suppliers
We encourage smaller enterprises, youth, women and individual owned entities to register as Community-based Suppliers to access opportunities to provide the City with goods and services below R30 000.
Community-based suppliers live and operate in a specific area or community, as verified by the relevant subcouncil, and meet the criteria as determined by the City's Director of Supply Chain Management.
Please note
All suppliers must ensure they are registered on CSD. The onus is on you to make sure all your associated information remains up to date.
