That the application for the extension of liquor trading hours from 18:00 to 20:00 Monday to Saturday trading for Off-Consumption premises in respect of” Shoprite Bishop Lavis, Erf 6933, corner of League and Lenton Road, Bishop Lavis Licence Reference Number WCP/036972 – Ward 42 was NOT SUPPORTED due to the following reasons:

It will impact negatively the surrounding environment;

The proximity of the licensed premises impacts the residentially zoned area, cultural, religious, and educational facilities

Concerns regarding community safety and crime are on the increase.
