The Subcouncil Manager introduced the report indicating the report is for noting. It was drafted after feedback from the Area Director that the report recommending MURP projects should be signed by the Executive Director and checked by Legal Services. It was also recommended that the Project title of the Safety or Precinct Ambassadors be changed to Community Ambassadors for sake of consistency across the Directorate.
The Subcouncil Manager explained the consultation process with departments which culminated in the two projects being preferred by Subcouncil 14.
The Subcouncil Manager indicated that the project charter and schedules for both Green Jobs Project and Community Ambassadors Project was completed. He also explained the planned collaboration with MURP regarding the Community Ambassadors Project and the collaboration with Environmental Management regarding the Green Jobs Project with both departments making available additional resources to implement the project.
Cllr Yozi requested clarity regarding other proposals forwarded to the Subcouncil. The Chairperson explained that these where reduced to two projects in the last Subcouncil meeting.
Cllr Ngxumza appreciated the update provided and the work done to date by the Subcouncil Manager. He is considering to reallocate ward allocation project provided for via these projects.
The Subcouncil Manager indicated that the three ward allocation projects titled Neighbourhood Ambassadors in wards 38, 41 and 42 could be executed using the same implementation mechanism that will be used for the Community Ambassadors Project.
The Subcouncil Chairperson indicated it was reported in the meeting of Chairpersons that further funding will be made available. More information will be shared once available.
Cllr Zondani expressed support for the projects. Cllr Zondani proposed noting of the report. Cllr Kumeke seconded the proposal.
There was unanimous agreement with the resolution.
