Resolution details

UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED that:
The application for a consent to utilize a portion (approximately 9925m2 in extent) of Erf 525, Gordons Bay, for the purposes of a place of entertainment (an amusement park, which may include the following uses: a putt-putt course, go-kart track, waterslide and pools, braai area, play park, open grassed/picnic area and skate park), BE APPROVED in terms of Section 98(b) of the Municipal Planning By-Law, 2015, subject to the conditions contained in Annexure A

REASONS FOR DECISION
The MPT APPROVED the application for the reasons set out in the Planner’s Report and agreed to correct the reasons as follows:

7.1 A recommendation for an amusement park (place of entertainment) is consistent with Council policies and/or spatial plans
7.2 A proposed amusement park will have a positive socio-economic impact in that more job opportunities will be created and recreational facilities provided
7.3 A proposed amusement park is compatible with the surrounding land uses
7.4 External engineering services have sufficient capacity to accommodate the proposed place of entertainment
7.5 An amusement park will not have an adverse impact on the health and well-being of the surrounding community
