Electricity meter readings
You can submit your own electricity meter reading or let us read your meter for you.
Our meter readers can submit your meter reading for you. They visit your premises once a month, or at least once every three months, and are easily recognisable by their uniform and official City of Cape Town identification. If the meter reader cannot safely access the meter, your bill will reflect an estimated amount based on your average monthly usage.
You can submit a meter reading via our e-Services portal or you can call us on 0860 103 089, send a fax to 0860 103 090 or email accounts@capetown.gov.za.
For security reasons, please contact our call centre on 0860 103 089 if you are concerned about the authenticity of the meter reader or any other City service representative.
