The training will help with the following:</p><ul><li>Creating spreadsheets, developing your Curriculum Vitae and covering letter.</li><li>Basic commands such as copy and paste, highlighting text and making it bold, italic, and underlined.</li><li>A brief introduction to the Internet and cybersecurity risks.</li></ul><p>We can accommodate ten participants per session and the sessions are three times a week at various venues across the City. We also provide free computer training sessions to those completing a 16-week alcohol and drug outpatient treatment programme, at a City Matrix Clinic. </p><p>Please ask either the librarian or your clinic receptionist for more information on venues, dates and times.</p><h2 class="sectHeading">Smartcape Cadets Skills Development Programme </h2><p>Under this programme, <a href="https://www.capetown.gov.za/work%20and%20business/jobs-and-skills-development/youth-careers/find-an-opportunity-with-epwp">EPWP candidates</a> are trained by the City’s Information Services and Technology (IS&T) Department to run the SmartCape service in
<a href="https://www.capetown.gov.za/Local%20and%20communities/See-all-City-facilities/Our-service-facilities/Libraries">City libraries </a>and assist customers with basic computer skills. </p><h4>After being trained, you will be able to: </h4><ul><li>Assist customers with e-Resources (Press Reader, Encyclopaedia Britannica Online);</li><li>Create and present digital literacy courses;</li><li>Help customers access the free Wi-Fi and use the internet to find information and complete online applications for universities, scholarships and bursaries;</li><li>Manage Smartcape –register users, maintain hardware and report problems;</li><li>Teach basic computer skills</li></ul><p>To apply, you must be registered on the
