RESOLVED
Subcouncil 20 notes that in considering the Subdelegation Rule part 24.4(1), the Subcouncil Manager in conjunction with the Chairperson who is also the Ward Councillor, recommended that the application for a liquor licence received from All Events Africa, Erf 144264, 146 Campground Road, Newlands Cricket Ground for the sale of liquor for Consumption ON Premises, Ref No LLA21030043, be supported with Conditions:
Condition 4.1.4 of Planning Case 70184571 indicates that the use of the stadium and field shall be restricted to cricket only.
“Cricket only” is interpreted to include uses and structures ancillary to cricket, such as refreshments for a cricket event. It does not however permit music events/concerts (unconnected with cricket). A Land Use Application would be required for such activities and the outcome of such an application would be required for such activities and the outcome of such an application process cannot be guaranteed.
In addition, liquor may only be sold or served till 11:00 pm (23:00).
