MATTERS FOR INFORMATION
 
The Subcouncil Manager informed the members of various successful Covid19 Public awareness interventions in Subcouncil11. She said that the programs were intended to raise awareness and to exercise precautionary measures in order to curb the spread of COVID-19 virus in the various pockets of informal settlements and the wards of the Subcouncil
 
  • Ward 46 had a successful intervention at Pooke Se Bos, pamphlet’s, and PPE e.g. gloves, mask and sanitizers were issued to community
  • Ward 47 held intervention on the 06 August 2020 at Hanover Community hall. A word thanks to City officials and M Hartzenberg for arranging the dancers and cadets. The invention was also attended by Alderman G Twigg, MAYCO member for Urban Management
  • Ward 40 held 6 inventions in small pockets of the informal settlements
  • The Subcouncil Manager requested that Subcouncil members and Ward committee members Identify Ward Allocation 2021/2022 projects and submit to Subcouncil within the timeframe. She attended ward 44 committee meeting and explained the process and encouraged the members to submit proposed projects and identify NGO’s doing exceptional work in the ward.
  • Covid-19 Outreach program Ward 40: will be on the 10 September in Newrest
  • Covid-19 Outreach program Ward 46: will be on the 23 September at Pook Se Bos, both events will be in the afternoon from 13:00-16:00
  • The Subcouncil Manager informed members that Ward 46 Cllr Cssiem has R1533.00 savings from the previous financial year 2019/2020.  The Sub council Manager engaged the ward councilor who requested that the amount of R1533.00 available be added to existing capacity building program in ward 46.  The sub council is required
 to make recommendation of the savings that will only be available at January 2021 adjustment budget
 
RESOLVED
 
The members of the sub council RECOMMENDED that the savings of R1533 be added to the existing capacity building program in ward 46.            .
