Based on the process prescribed in the City of Cape Town’s Informal Trading By-Law :
 

  1. That Subcouncil 18 SUPPORTS the review of the Informal Trading Plan for Ward 65 Lotus River Area ;
 
  1. That Subcouncil 18 RECOMMENDS to the Executive Mayor to recommends to Council to adopt the Informal Trading Plan for Ward 65 and that the following proposed areas be declared new trading spaces as indicated in the table below :

  1. The areas indicated on Annexures A to G Lotus River, be declared areas in which the carrying on of the business of street vendor, peddler or hawker is prohibited, with the exception of the informal trading bays reflected on the Annexures A to G ;
  2. The areas indicated on Annexures A to G Lotus River, be declared an area in which the carrying on of the business of street vendor, peddler or hawker is restricted to persons in possession of a valid permit ;
  3. The informal trading bays mentioned in Annexures A to G be let out by means of a permit system and that no street vending,peddling or hawking be permitted in these demarcated informal trading bays if a person is not in possession of a valid permit for the particular trading spaces ;
  4. In terms for the provisions of the Businesses Act, Act 71 of 1991, Council to revoke the proclamation as published in the      Province of Western Cape : Provincial Gazette Notice 5666 dated 2 February 2001.
