UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED That the outcome of the following traffic calming assessment BE NOTED: Ward 103: Buh-rein Estate, Kraaifontein (TNDN1571) – Traffic Calming for roads within the Estate (a) Speed humps relating to the streets situated within the estate NOT BE SUPPORTED as it is not in line with the Traffic Calming Policy. (b) The below-mentioned BE RECOMMENDED as indicated (Refer Annexure A1 – 4): SPEED LIMIT • R201 Speed limit signs in Buhrein Drive and Zandvliet Drive displaying a maximum speed limit of 40km/h, as currently displayed in Buh-Rein Estate AT EACH OF THE BRICK PAVED PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS • RTM1 Stop Lines on either side of the brick paved crossings • R2.1 Signs: Yield to Pedestrians at the exact locations of brick paved crossings. AT THE PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS AT THE TRAFFIC CIRCLES • R2.1 Signs: Yield to Pedestrians at the exact locations of pedestrian crossing. FUTURE EXPANSION: • As Buh-Rein Estate expands in size, it is recommended that adequate road markings and signs be applied to all pedestrian crossing points.
