RESOLVED Subcouncil 20 refuses the application for liquor licence received from RJ’s Liquors, Erf 66550, 36 Main Road, Wynberg, Reference No WCP036872/A, for the extension of liquor trading days and hours, Mondays to Saturdays, 18:00 until 20:00 for Consumption Off Premises. Reasons for Refusal: a) Approval of the application would extend drinking in public and anti-social behavior by 2 hours, thereby inconveniencing residents and businesses. b) The location of the application is in a residential area and close to a problematic area where the taxis form a stacking rank. There are also businesses close by. c) There are sufficient liquor outlets in Wynberg to sustain the availability of liquor.
