Resolution detail

Mr Georgeades gave a verbal presentation and stated as follows: •The contractor has been appointed and work started on 4 May. •The contract period is 18 months. •Most of the memorial restoration work will take place within the first few months. •The tiled mosaic artwork will take longer. •Enough time was provided to develop artwork and host workshops with the flower sellers. •The idea is to involve them as much as possible in the design of the artwork and possibly even the mosaics. •The Environmental Management Department will return at a later date with another presentation when more work has taken place. Concern raised: •As the renovation is progressing, the informal trading plan for the area must be dealt with simultaneously.
