RESOLVED Subcouncil 20 notes that in considering the Subdelegation Rule Part 24 4(1), the Subcouncil Manager in conjunction with the Chairperson and Ward Councillor recommended that the application for a liquor licence received from Gags Sports Bar, 66 Victoria Road, Southfield, for the sale of liquor for Consumption ON premises, Reference No LLA1710007 NOT BE SUPPORTED. Reasons for Not Supporting: a) No parking is provided on the place of assembly/place of entertainment. The place of entertainment is required to provide off-street parking at the rate of “1 bay per 6 seats or persons, calculated at 1,4m² floor space – 1 person” as required by the City of Cape Town’s Municipal Planning By-Law, 2015 as amended. b) In addition the application prejudices the residents of a residential area as well as congregants of a religious institution located in the vicinity of the proposed licensed premises.
