SAPS objected to this application (bar facility was selling liquor illegally to patrons after trading hours). SAPS also pointed out that the premises are close to the Sea Point High School, in a residential area. See attached Addendum C.
Cllr Ramsay proposed that in view of the objection to this application by both the CPF and SAPS, the application be refused.
The proposed refusal of the application was put to vote by show of hands and votes were recorded as follows:
Abstain: 1
In favour: 9
RESOLVED that the application for extension of liquor trading hours in respect of Decodance Night Club, 120 Main Road, Sea Point, On Consumption: 02:00 – 04:00 BE REFUSED due to the applicant contravening its existing trading hours, thereby proving itself as an irresponsible trader.
