Mr Richard White, Subcouncil Manager, reported as follows:
• The multi-departmental report on the covering the following aspects will be submitted to the August Subcouncil meeting.
o Cleaning plan for Kirstenhof Wetlands with reference to the duck pond at Oranje Road.
o Schedule of intended cleaning and dredging of canals at Orchard Village.
o A plan for maintenance and rehabilitation of the Westlake River, including the reed bed at the bridge.
• The request for a public meeting regarding indigent grants will be held in the Westlake Hall in August, the hall has been tentatively booked.

Mr Richard White, Subcouncil Manager, reported as follows:
• The information was received and circulated to all Councillors. It was conveyed to him that this was acceptable.
• A meeting was set-up and a communication was received from the Mayor’s Representative, Cllr Eddie Andrews who advised that an ODTP Roadshow would be held in Westlake on 12 September 2017, Recommendation 4 would be added to that programme.
In response to a question whether invitations would be sent to all Wards, Mr White advised that invitations had already been sent to all Wards.

Mr Richard White, Subcouncil Manager, reported that the ODTP Roadshow was held on 12 September 2017.
More than 100 jobseekers were signed up and overall the event was very well attended.
The Chairperson advised that the item could be removed from the MRA report.

RESOLVED
1. Subcouncil 20 notes the verbal report for Ward 71.
2. Subcouncil 20 notes that a written report be submitted regarding the request for maintenance of various areas in Ward 71 and for a workshop for the Westlake community about indigent grants and rebates by Cllr East .
3. On receipt of the written report from Cllr East as per the Chairperson, a multi-departmental report to be requested by the Subcouncil on the following aspects:
o Cleaning plan for Kirstenhof Wetlands with reference to the duck pond at Oranje Road.
o Schedule of intended cleaning and dredging of canals at Orchard Village.
o A plan for maintenance and rehabilitation of the Westlake River, including the reed bed at the bridge.

4. On receipt of the written report from Cllr East as per the Chairperson statement, the Subcouncil to convene a workshop for the Westlake community to assist with applications for indigent grants, old age rebates and disabled persons’ rebates applicable to the new financial year and its budget.
