Cllr Peck reported that he met with Mr David Smit of Land Claims of Provincial Government on 1 October 2019 and at the moment they are waiting for the tender to be finalised and signed off to appoint a surveyor to survey the ground. There are seven beneficiaries from Helderzicht area and some of those people are already living in Firgrove and there are five people that will be giving houses that they are currently occupying that are leased to them. Ground that are left over will be allocated at a later stage to other claimants. It will be a total of 15 or 18 units that will be pieces of ground that will be cut out of that portion of land. This will take another two years before anything happens. He suggested that the item be removed as he knows what is happening and who to contact and will keep on following up.
RESOLVED
That the item be REMOVED from the MRA’s as Cllr Peck knows what is happening and who to contact for further progress on the matter.
