Resolution details

UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED that:
The application for consent use to permit a place of instruction to accommodate an early childhood development centre on erf 10211, 3 Curlewis Road, Blouberg Rise, Milnerton, BE APPROVED in terms of Section 98(b) of the Municipal Planning By-Law, 2015 subject to the conditions contained in Annexure G.

REASONS FOR DECISION
The MPT APPROVED the application for the following reasons:

1. In terms of Section 99(2) of the Municipal Planning By-Law (2015) the proposal is considered desirable insofar as the amended scale of the proposal is considered contextually appropriate.
2. The combined impact of all the existing educational facilities on the existing urban fabric has been taken into account
3. The place of instruction will have no material negative impact on the character of the area or the neighbouring properties due to its reduced scale
4. The application is consistent with the criteria for small scale ECDs
5. The application is supported by all the departments within the City Council
