RESOLVED that it be NOTED that an application for a liquor licence received from SMART KITCHEN CO was considered in terms of sub-delegated authority and that the following recommendation was forwarded to the Liquor Authority in terms of the Western Cape Liquor Act, 2008, as amended:
SubCouncil 16 recommends that the application for a Consumption OFF Premises Liquor Licence, reference no. LLA22040012, for the business Smart Kitchen Co NOT BE SUPPORTED.
Subcouncil does not support the application for the following reasons:

The Bo-Kaap community regard the area as a “dry area” and as such would object to the sale of alcohol in the area, even for off-site consumption.

Emergency Services require the submission of plans, 1186 signage and occupancy separation.

Applicant obtaining an appropriate business licence from the City of Cape Town.
