Resolution detail

RESOLVED to RECOMMEND that a portion of Erf 14888 Cape Town situated at New Market Street, Cape Town, measuring approximately 10 311m² in extent, indicated as ABCDEF back of footway G curve H shown cross hatched on Plan STC 2298 V3  as Annexure “A” attached to the report, BE RESERVED for the Human Settlements Planning Department (Human Settlements Directorate) subject to the following conditions:
 

  1. The subject property shall be utilised for the purpose of social housing;
 
  1. The Human Settlements Planning Department (Human Settlements Directorate) takes responsibility for the required land use processes, as well as compliance with any related legislation and agree to comply with internal branch comments listed under paragraph 9 of this report and paragraph 6 of the reservation report approved on 5 September 2017, where applicable;
 
  1. The said Department accepts full responsibility for the management and maintenance of the land and any structure to be erected thereon, including maintenance, utility consumption, security and content insurance, as is applicable;
 
  1. That all costs related to the above be provided for by the Human Settlements Planning Department (Human Settlements Directorate) (Cost Centre Number: 19030003)
 
  1. Additional conditions:
     
  2. That the piece of land underneath the highway be included and be used as a park.
  3. To generate additional revenue, New Market to be used as underground parking.
