<h2 class="sectHeading">About the policy</h2></span>
<p>The policy, first approved by Council in 2013, is only for official entertainment of non-Council persons, where there is a clear or potential benefit that aligns with the City's vision.</p><h4>Expenditure for entertainment is only permissible when it:</h4><ul><li>Improves the City’s working relationship with significant external persons, and </li><li>aligns with the City’s vision, mandate and objectives outlined in our
<a href="https://www.capetown.gov.za/Family%20and%20home/Meet-the-City/our-vision-for-the-city/the-citys-idp-2022-2027">Integrated Development Plan (IDP)</a>.</li></ul><h4>The policy aims to:</h4><ul><li>provide appropriate control of expenditure through the provision of clear limitations and guidelines for reasonable expenditure that may be incurred for the business purpose of entertainment and hospitality. </li><li> acknowledge the necessity and benefit of this expenditure in maintaining and increasing support for City partnerships and potentially enhancing efficient and effective operations or improved service delivery.</li></ul><p>Notice is hereby given in terms of section 78(3) of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, No. 32 of 2000 that the City of Cape Town Metropolitan Municipality (“the City”) intends to explore the provision of the municipal service through an external mechanism. </p><p> In terms of section 17 of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, Act 32 of 2000, you can submit comments to the municipality in respect of the draft revised policy. </p><p>Access the draft revised
