Traffic fine roadshow 3
The roadshow will be the third since December 2023.

The Traffic Service, assisted by staff from the municipal courts, gathers at the Cape Town Civic Centre for several days at a time, so that motorists can come to a central location to clear fines and warrants, irrespective of where those offences were committed.

'We've come to realise that the roadshows are incredibly popular, and that is why we have increased the frequency where logistics have allowed. The previous roadshows in December and March saw nearly 3 500 people assisted and more than 6 000 fines finalised. It brings peace of mind to motorists, and reduces the burden on our traffic service and the municipal courts. We remind those who want to participate in the roadshow that patience is key, and that there will be a daily cut-off in the queue to help manage the process,' said Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security, Alderman JP Smith.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE ROADSHOW

The event will run from Tuesday, 25 June 2024 until Friday, 28 June 2024, on the Concourse level at the Cape Town Civic Centre.

The start time is 08:30 daily, but based on demand and operational requirements, the daily schedule could be amended.

The following services will be available:

· All fine-related enquiries for vehicles registered in their name (no reduction will be allowed on contempt of court amounts)

· Applying for a reduction on traffic fines issued within the City of Cape Town's municipal boundaries

· Paying outstanding fines

· Enquiring about warrants and/or summons issued in their name and finalising these

· Removing administration marks against their name on the Natis system

It is important to note that where a vehicle is not registered in your name or where you would like to apply for a reduction on behalf of another person, officers will require the following documentation:

Affidavit that you bought vehicle from person A (full details of person A) and that you are the responsible person or

Where you act on behalf of another person and would like to apply for a reduction, we require an affidavit from person A stating that he/she has given you permission to act on his/her behalf.

Residents who plan on visiting the roadshow should bring along any one of the following documents: South African Identity Document or Driving Licence, South African Passport or a Traffic Register Certificate.

Payment options will include both cash and card.

For detailed information on the upcoming roadshow visit: .

The City's Traffic Service would like to remind motorists and the public that the roadshow is an added value service, and that there are numerous existing channels through which they can check for, and pay fines:

End

2024-06-18T22:00:00ZGP0|#1d539e44-7c8c-4646-887d-386dc1d95d70;L0|#01d539e44-7c8c-4646-887d-386dc1d95d70|City news;GTSet|#62efe227-07aa-45e7-944c-ceebacca891dGP0|#7cc7a47a-7915-4274-a19e-e977c5a945e0;L0|#07cc7a47a-7915-4274-a19e-e977c5a945e0|traffic;GTSet|#2e3de6c1-9951-4747-8f53-470629a399bb;GP0|#c88e2f9d-a86c-4cb7-8aec-1ed93781a565;L0|#0c88e2f9d-a86c-4cb7-8aec-1ed93781a565|fines10
