Further kerb work will also be done at Blackbird Avenue.

‘The work is much needed to ensure the longevity of the road network in Parkwood. Improved road surfaces will also enhance the safety for all road users in the area. I am really happy that we have managed to include the repainting of all existing roadmarking in Parkwood into this project. Fresh road marking always makes an area’s roads look so much more appealing. Given that road maintenance usually causes some inconvenience, I urge residents to please be patient while the work is under way and comply with the signage. Once complete, everyone will benefit from it,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Transport, Councillor Rob Quintas.

Road users are informed that traffic moving in both directions will be affected and flag personnel will regulate traffic in one direction at a time. Work areas will be temporarily demarcated to regulate traffic flow. Residents may park their vehicles in the demarcated area after 18:00 provided that they are removed by 06:30. Parked vehicles that obstruct the construction works will be moved or towed away to avoid interfering with the work.

‘Although no congestion is expected in the area, we recommend that road users consider alternative routes where possible. I want to thank the residents for their cooperation and patience while the work is ongoing,’ said Councillor Quintas.

The City’s local roads infrastructure management district office plans to do further road resurfacing work in the Grassy Park area as listed in the district’s maintenance programme during the current financial year. Further details pertaining to this work will be communicated as the planning for these projects is finalised.

End

2022-01-16T22:00:00ZGP0|#1d539e44-7c8c-4646-887d-386dc1d95d70;L0|#01d539e44-7c8c-4646-887d-386dc1d95d70|City news;GTSet|#62efe227-07aa-45e7-944c-ceebacca891dGP0|#6f389412-3ed4-47a4-9dd6-dae60aa37f91;L0|#06f389412-3ed4-47a4-9dd6-dae60aa37f91|Parkwood;GTSet|#2e3de6c1-9951-4747-8f53-470629a399bb;GP0|#f1734e52-da42-4cfc-a3a5-3514093d3513;L0|#0f1734e52-da42-4cfc-a3a5-3514093d3513|roads;GP0|#b3ccd6b4-71ad-4eb0-893f-128e60af1a2d;L0|#0b3ccd6b4-71ad-4eb0-893f-128e60af1a2d|Grassy Park10
