Podium place for top coding teams <span><p>The City's Libraries and Information Service hosted a successful final round of its Coding tournament at the Goodwood Library yesterday. Twelve libraries entered 20 teams who competed for a place on the podium. It was a day of high level competition, learning and fun – even Libee, the library mascot attended and put smiles on the participants' faces. </p><p>The winning teams will represent Cape Town in the national tournament in October, followed by the World Tournament in December this year.</p> <figure class="subtopic-fullsize-img"> <img src="https://resource.capetown.gov.za/cityassets/Media%20Images%202/Coding%20finals%2031724%20First%20prize%20competition%20winners.jpg" class="responsive" alt="" style="width:949px;" /> </figure>​​</span><span><p>During the previous round on Mandela Day, 28 libraries competed with 438 participants.</p><p>Tangible Africa is responsible for creating coding applications, TANKS and RANGERS, which allow participants to play offline, using minimal resources.  </p><p>'We are really excited to see the level of enthusiasm and the skill of participants during the final round of the coding tournament at the Goodwood library. The tournament gave the opportunity to top teams to compete for podium place.
