Please don’t report the same service request multiple times to the City | Please don’t report the same service request multiple times to the City | | |
This week’s inclement weather has led to high service request call volumes at the City of Cape Town’s 24-hour call centre, Public Emergency Communication Centre and the Transport Information Centre. The high call volumes have put significant strain on these telephone lines. To avoid any serious IT related issues with its communication channels the City asks that residents please only report an incident or log a service request once as logging the same requests multiple times puts further strain on the telephone lines and teams.

|
'The City is attending to service requests in the fastest time possible, and we ask that residents remain patient when logging their service request telephonically. Our WhatsApp, email and SMS channels are all up and running and are just as effective when reporting any incidents and requesting the City's assistance.

'We urge residents to refrain from logging the same fault via multiple channels, or logging the same fault repeatedly, when reporting any faults to us so that duplicate service requests are avoided. We understand that residents are desperate for their issues to be attended to at the moment, but we can assure you that each and every request is being processed and the relevant teams are prioritising requests as required. Residents are reminded to take down the reference number they will receive when logging their service request and they can use it to follow up on the status of their service request,' said the City's Mayoral Committee Member for Corporate Services, Alderman Theresa Uys.

For service requests (please only log on one channel):

City 24-hour call centre:

Call Centre: 0860 103 089

e-Services: www.capetown.gov.za/servicerequests

To report emergencies:

021 480 7700 or 107 from a landline.

Roads and stormwater (potholes / flooding / fallen trees / open manholes)

0800 656 463

Transport.Info@capetown.gov.za

Water and Sanitation:

WhatsApp: 060 018 1505

SMS (water faults): 31373

Email: water@capetown.gov.za

Electricity services and damage:

WhatsApp: 060 018 1505

SMS: 31220

Email: power@capetown.gov.za

End

| 2024-07-10T22:00:00Z | GP0|#1d539e44-7c8c-4646-887d-386dc1d95d70;L0|#01d539e44-7c8c-4646-887d-386dc1d95d70|City news;GTSet|#62efe227-07aa-45e7-944c-ceebacca891d | | | | | GP0|#54023efe-5443-41f4-98c9-065296a7c3d7;L0|#054023efe-5443-41f4-98c9-065296a7c3d7|service delivery;GTSet|#2e3de6c1-9951-4747-8f53-470629a399bb;GP0|#ff4292df-e4cb-4133-95d5-e9035896836c;L0|#0ff4292df-e4cb-4133-95d5-e9035896836c|emergency services;GTSet|#2e3de6c1-9951-4747-8f53-470629a399bb;GP0|#cb424193-631c-4955-b642-2f16bcdf8de2;L0|#0cb424193-631c-4955-b642-2f16bcdf8de2|C3 Notification;GTSet|#2e3de6c1-9951-4747-8f53-470629a399bb | 1 | | | | | | | | | | | 0 |
