Pensioner caught with his pants down

The City of Cape Town’s Metro Police Department arrested a 71-year-old man on a range of charges after he tried to mow them down in an attempt to get away after being caught committing an indecent act.Officers on patrol along Sir Lowry’s Pass on Thursday 5 January 2017 spotted a white Toyota Corolla parked along the side of the road. When they stopped to investigate, they caught the man and a woman in a compromising position. They requested the duo to get dressed and asked the man to get out of the vehicle so they could speak to him. He refused and sped off instead, nearly running over the two officers. They gave chase and managed to apprehend the driver with the help of the South African Police Service (SAPS) on the N2.The suspect was detained at the Somerset West Police Station on charges of attempted murder, failing to comply with a lawful instruction, reckless and negligent driving, and resisting arrest after being caught committing an indecent act. <blockquote cite="https://wwww.cite.co.za"> "This is yet another example of the consequences of bolting, but it seems few people learn their lesson. The officers had been tipped off by members of the public while on patrol in the area on Saturday 7 January 2017. When they searched the premises, they found various quantities of dagga, tik, cocaine, mandrax and ecstasy as well as just over R7 000 in cash. In Manenberg, two suspects were arrested for possession of tik after being searched by officers on patrol yesterday, 8 January 2017. On the roads, Metro Police officers arrested 11 motorists for driving under the influence of alcohol in Hout Bay, Table View, Muizenberg and Nyanga. The City’s Traffic Service arrested a further nine motorists for the same offence during a roadblock in Bellville South on Friday 6 January 2017.The City’s Law Enforcement Department meanwhile arrested two suspects in Strandfontein on Saturday 7 January 2017 for possession of tik. The previous day, Law Enforcement officers arrested five suspects for riotous behaviour in Camps Bay, while this morning, officers arrested a 17-year-old for stoning a bus in Atlantis. The teenager was charged with malicious damage to property. In Mfuleni, Law Enforcement officers impounded a bakkie after they found the occupants dumping old clothes at the corners of Old Faure Road and Spine Road Extension. The impoundment comes just days after Law Enforcement impounded two other bakkies for illegally dumping building rubble along Swartklip Road in Mitchells Plain. Offenders are fined R5 000 and have to pay an impoundment release fee of R7 500. Law Enforcement has impounded more than 20 vehicles used for illegal dumping since an amendment to the Integrated Waste Management By-law in August 2016. ‘We appeal to members of the public to blow the whistle on illegal dumpers. Illegal dumping is not just an eyesore, but it also has the potential to be a breeding ground for disease and vermin, so it is in everyone’s best interests to help us catch those responsible. The City also spends hundreds of millions of rands every year cleaning up illegally dumped materials – money that could have been better spent elsewhere,’ added Alderman Smith.Illegal dumping can be reported to the City’s Public Emergency Communication Centre by dialing <a>021 480 7700</a> from a cellphone or 107 from a landline.
