Nothing speaks to this more than the city's creative, arts and entertainment scene. Adding an event of the stature of WOMAD to our annual calendar can only enhance the already flourishing performance art scene in our beautiful city. This is also the perfect platform for local artists to showcase their talent and exchange cultural experiences with artists from other countries across the globe. I would like to encourage Capetonians to head to the V&A Waterfront to enjoy this celebration of art, music and dance,' said Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis.

The Cape Town leg of the WOMAD South Africa Safari will take place on Saturday 1 October and Sunday 2 October 2022 with free live performances at multiple venues at the V&A Waterfront.

Performances will take place at the following venues:

Nobel Square from 12:00 to 16:30

V&A Waterfront Amphitheatre from 13:00 to 20:00

Quay 4 from 18:00 to 22:00

Ferryman's Tavern from 18:00 to 22:00

As part of the event's other activities, skills transfer workshops will be held by the international artists at the District Six Theatre, Langa's Bridge Music Academy, the Ocean View Music Academy and Mitchells Plain Community Centre.

| 2022-09-27T22:00:00Z | GP0|#1d539e44-7c8c-4646-887d-386dc1d95d70;L0|#01d539e44-7c8c-4646-887d-386dc1d95d70|City news;GTSet|#62efe227-07aa-45e7-944c-ceebacca891d | | | | | GP0|#1b05f64b-82b6-48ff-9032-784fac58cf97;L0|#01b05f64b-82b6-48ff-9032-784fac58cf97|executive mayor;GTSet|#2e3de6c1-9951-4747-8f53-470629a399bb;GP0|#f9891347-9853-4a33-be46-2fd52a61e835;L0|#0f9891347-9853-4a33-be46-2fd52a61e835|events;GTSet|#2e3de6c1-9951-4747-8f53-470629a399bb;GP0|#5aadc76a-7644-4c8b-9182-a3dd003f7a33;L0|#05aadc76a-7644-4c8b-9182-a3dd003f7a33|V&A Waterfront;GTSet|#2e3de6c1-9951-4747-8f53-470629a399bb | 1 | | | | | | | | | | | 0 |
