At the heart of this campaign is boots on the ground, going door-to-door to find City and government-enabled homeowners who have never received their title deeds. <br></p> | <div>'We’re honoured to celebrate the heartbeat of our human settlements programmes – our beneficiaries. We’ve done a ceremonial launch of our new door-to-deed title deed campaign in Lentegeur in honour of our beneficiaries that we’ve found through this boots-on-the-ground initiative. We have already found hundreds of beneficiaries through the appointed title deed agents to track down beneficiaries who have never received their title deeds. Often, details have not been updated so we have been unable to find them, or they have moved out of the metro and changed their contact numbers. The dedicated team is going door-to-door to find beneficiaries and verify details. We are doing everything we can to track down 16 000 beneficiaries who we are aware of. Title deeds prove ownership and are important documents for financial transactions, including wills and banking loans, among others. </div><div>

</div><div>‘I am joining teams, going door-to-door to homes across the metro to deliver title deeds. We’re shifting into higher gear and building on the success of last year’s Festive Deeds Challenge, where we delivered more than 1 000 title deeds to beneficiaries across the metro in just a few months. We’ve proved that we can do it and this time around, we are aiming to deliver even more. We encourage our beneficiaries to please update their details at their local housing office so we can find them to deliver their deed to their door. We’re moving forward to build Cape Town together,’ said the City’s Human Settlements Maycoral Committee Member, Councillor Carl Pophaim.<br></div><div>

Once verified, they need these documents: </h4><div><ul><li>Owner ID, and spouse ID, if applicable.</li><li>Marriage certificate, if applicable. </li><li>In the event of a death of a recipient, please provide a Letter of Authority, and a Death Certificate or a Will.</li></ul></div><div>If a beneficiary misses the team, they may bring along the required documents and visit us at the Cape Town Civic Centre, 2nd Floor Human Settlements Kiosk.</div><div>
