Community pools to operate daily until end February<p>​Community swimming pools are open daily from Monday to Sunday between 10:00 and 17:00 until the end of February 2024, allowing residents and visitors ample opportunity to enjoy the summer season.<br></p><span> <figure class="subtopic-fullsize-img"> <img src="https://resource.capetown.gov.za/cityassets/Media%20Images%202/Beach%20Muizenberg.jpg" class="responsive" alt="" style="width:1218px;" /> </figure>​</span>From 1 to 20 March, community pools will transition to weekend operations only, until after the Easter weekend (29 March to 1 April 2024), when facilities will close for the off-season.<div><br><p>The Recreation and Parks Department is prioritising the operation and maintenance at the many facilities across the metropole and would like to remind residents and visitors to ensure that they stay informed about operating times and the rules and regulations at swimming pools and beaches.</p><p>A swimming pool's operational status may vary, based on maintenance and operational requirements. Routine maintenance and monitoring are crucial to maintaining optimal water quality, ensuring a safe and enjoyable swimming experience.</p><p>Lifeguard hours at designated beaches remain unchanged, from 10:00 to 18:00 daily to ensure continuous surveillance and supervision.</p><p>'We have waved goodbye to the festive season, but summer is still in full swing. We are expecting very high temperatures over the coming days, and so we invite the public to make the most of our facilities as they seek relief from the heat. However, please exercise caution at all times, for your safety and that of others. The City remains dedicated to providing recreational facilities and services to the community.
