Community Wellness Day boosts health awareness in Cravenby Estate<div>A community Wellness Day event was held at the Cravenby Civic Centre on Saturday, 16 April 2016. The initiative was run in partnership with the City’s Health Department and the Department of Social Development and other community stakeholders.</div><div><br></div><div>Representatives from the International Women’s Peace Group, CANSA, Social Development and City Health were in attendance to assist with educating and informing resident about health and social issues.</div><div><br></div><div>The event was well attended and approximately 300 residents participated in the discussions around healthy eating habits. They were informed about the risks of developing diabetes and how diet could play a role in preventing or reversing Type 2 diabetes, which is a lifestyle disease.
