Generation and Distribution performance report, which reveals that the
department’s capital expenditure on growth and refurbishment was at 86,9% at
the end of the fourth quarter. </span></em></strong><br></p> | <p>'The City continues to make significant capital investment in electricity infrastructure in Cape Town as it is essential for the provision of safe and reliable electricity supply to residents and businesses. At the end of the fourth quarter, capital expenditure for growth and refurbishment had reached a whopping R532,6 million.</p><p>'Moreover, the departmental performance report further indicates that at 96,5%, the City's High Voltage Transformer availability has been consistently above target over the course of the last 12 months. This not only underscores our commitment to service delivery excellence, but it also tells a story of a city working hard to do more,' said the City's Mayoral Committee Member for Energy, Councillor Beverley van Reenen.</p><p>'I am pleased with the progress made by the City's Electricity Generation and Distribution Department. Capital investments in electricity infrastructure rollout and maintenance across the city will secure Cape Town's grid and ensure that residents and businesses continue to live and work with the peace of mind of reliable power supply.
