|City temporarily extends hours for vehicle licence disc renewals at five offices||
December is traditionally one of the busiest months for vehicle licence disc renewals.

For this reason, the hours for vehicle licence disc renewals at five motor vehicle registration offices are being extended until 18:00 from today, 5 December to Thursday 8 December and from Monday 12 December to Thursday 15 December 2016.

The five motor vehicle registration offices are situated at the Cape Town Civic Centre, in Parow, Goodwood, Brackenfell and at the Airport Vehicle Testing station.

The offices open at 08:00 but will commence with assisting clients before the official opening times where possible.

Furthermore, all MVR offices, except the Mitchells Plain Promenade branch, will close at noon on Friday 9 December 2016.

‘High volumes of in-person applications may be experienced at this time of the year. Motorists are therefore encouraged to do their vehicle licence disc renewals as soon as possible, especially before they go on holiday and travel.

‘They are also reminded to take along their proof of address when renewing their motor vehicle licences, which must be done annually as this is a National Government requirement. It is very important for customers to have all of the required documentation with them when they apply for licence disc renewals to prevent any additional delays.

‘Furthermore, for motorists’ convenience, card payment facilities are available for vehicle licence disc renewals at the motor vehicle licence offices, including the Cape Town Civic Centre
