City teams are again fully operational, hard at work and dedicated to rapidly eradicating any service delivery backlogs created by the violent unrest, such as with refuse collection, water and sanitation services, as well as electricity services.<br></p> | <p>The City thanks its customers and residents for the support and apologises for any inconvenience as we work through some backlogs. The City is committed to resolving requests as soon as possible. </p><div>The City continues to monitor all areas, and can confirm that all of the MyCiTi bus service routes were reinstated this morning, however, it may take a few hours for operations to settle in again.<br></div><div><br></div><div>For the most part, City staff continued to operate where possible and frontline service staff attended to emergency work under law enforcement escort. City safety and security teams were absolutely key in helping to protect residents, service teams, commuters and delivery sectors especially. In some declared no-go areas, the safety threat and violence were however too great to deploy staff and contractors. This created some backlogs and delays which are being worked through as well as attending to new requests. </div><div><br></div><div>Where there are refuse collection delays, customers should please have their bins out from 06:00 until 18:00 every day until bins have been serviced. </div><div><br></div><div>All City clinics are operational except for the Site B Male Clinic which is closed due to a burglary and the Site C Youth Clinic that was vandalised.</div><div><br></div><div>The teams are conducting a full review of the damages and clients are being redirected to the other facilities in Khayelitsha.</div><div> </div><div><strong>For general enquiries including water, electricity, accounts and motor vehicle licences residents may call the City’s Customer call centre on 0860 103 089 or </strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>contact.us@capetown.gov.za.</strong></span><br></div><div> </div><div> <br></div><div><strong>End</strong><br><br></div> | 2023-08-10T22:00:00Z | GP0|#1d539e44-7c8c-4646-887d-386dc1d95d70;L0|#01d539e44-7c8c-4646-887d-386dc1d95d70|City news;GTSet|#62efe227-07aa-45e7-944c-ceebacca891d | | | | | GP0|#d0424a98-68c9-49ee-8bf8-52a77c5bdf45;L0|#0d0424a98-68c9-49ee-8bf8-52a77c5bdf45|service;GTSet|#2e3de6c1-9951-4747-8f53-470629a399bb;GP0|#54023efe-5443-41f4-98c9-065296a7c3d7;L0|#054023efe-5443-41f4-98c9-065296a7c3d7|service delivery;GTSet|#2e3de6c1-9951-4747-8f53-470629a399bb | 1 | | | | | | | | | | | 0 |
