City puts local tourism entrepreneurs on the global stage<span style="line-height:1.6;">​Following the success of last year’s event, the City of Cape Town has doubled the number of local tourism entrepreneurs who will participate at the World Travel Market (WTM) Africa expo in April.</span><div><span style="line-height:1.6;"><br></span></div><div><span style="line-height:1.6;">A group of 20 entrepreneurs will be able to place their products and services in the spotlight at the event, giving them the opportunity to rub shoulders with some of the world’s top travel and tourism industry buyers.</span></div><div><span style="line-height:1.6;"><br></span></div><div><span style="line-height:1.6;"><strong>Three platforms to showcase travel entrepreneurship</strong></span></div><div><span style="line-height:1.6;"><br></span></div><div><span style="line-height:1.6;"></span><span style="line-height:1.6;">Africa Travel Week is the continent’s largest international travel industry event. The show attracts approximately 500 international tourism industry buyers, 4 500 trade visitors, 220 media and 1 700 exhibition staff from across Africa and the world. The event comprises the World Travel Market Africa expo, the International Luxury Travel Market Africa expo, and the Incentives, Business Travel and Meetings Africa events.</span></div><div><span style="line-height:1.6;"><br></span></div><div><span style="line-height:1.6;">‘I am pleased that the number of local tourism businesses selected to participate in this year’s show has doubled. The exposure for these entrepreneurs will be invaluable. WTM Africa affords them the opportunity to meet potential distributors and buyers, test market interest, evaluate the competition, identify strategic partners and position themselves globally.
