The affected areas are Eskom-supplied. The Ward 109 Councillor, Councillor Peter Helfrich, and I have personally been in contact with officials at Eskom regarding the situation in its supply area. </div><div><br></div><div>While power has been restored in almost all of the affected areas, Eskom officials continue to work tirelessly on site, carrying out urgent repairs to its infrastructure in the area. In an effort to speedily resolve this matter, I have invited officials from Eskom and the City’s Urban Mobility Directorate to a meeting this Thursday, 13 October 2022, to explore possible long-term solutions and interventions to urgently address community concerns. </div><div><br></div><div>Eskom has informed me that it met with the community yesterday, 10 October 2022, and had fruitful discussions with residents and with Councillor Helfrich regarding the situation.
