Year-on-year, we have seen an increase not only in the level of competition, but also in the number of people who travel to Cape Town for this tournament. We have been encouraged by how the event has contributed to promoting the Mother City as a sports tourism destination and the tournament's focus on developing the next generation of female golfers. It really has been an honour for Cape Town to host the Investec SA Women's Open over the last seven years and we are looking forward to a renewed partnership over the next three years,' said the City's Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security, Alderman JP Smith.

Some of the Investec South African Women's Open highlights over the last seven years include:

Largest prize money (over R6 million) for any professional women's golf tournament in South Africa

Increased international entries from 93 in 2019 to 112 international entries from 30 different countries in 2023

Has hosted over 700 golfers

Rejoined (co-sanctioned by) the Ladies European Tour in 2018

The 2021 tournament served as a qualifying event for the 2021 US Women's Open

Broadcast in over 60 countries

Hosted annual golf clinic, conducted by professional players, for local golfers affiliated to the Sally Little Kids Golf Clinic

The 2024 Investec Women's Open will once again draw the curtain on the eight-tournament Sunshine Ladies Tour season.

It will take place at the Erinvale Golf Course from 25 to 28 April 2024.

For more information on this and other events hosted in Cape Town visit eventsincapetown.com

End

| 2024-03-27T22:00:00Z | GP0|#1d539e44-7c8c-4646-887d-386dc1d95d70;L0|#01d539e44-7c8c-4646-887d-386dc1d95d70|City news;GTSet|#62efe227-07aa-45e7-944c-ceebacca891d | | | | | GP0|#f9891347-9853-4a33-be46-2fd52a61e835;L0|#0f9891347-9853-4a33-be46-2fd52a61e835|events;GTSet|#2e3de6c1-9951-4747-8f53-470629a399bb;GP0|#13839e11-6321-4a6b-9359-1e8cc94a575e;L0|#013839e11-6321-4a6b-9359-1e8cc94a575e|tournaments;GTSet|#2e3de6c1-9951-4747-8f53-470629a399bb | 1 | | | | | | | | | | | 0 |
