City advises of emergency repairs on the water supply main affecting Pintail, West Street, Garden Village and Helderzicht in Somerset West

The City’s Water and Sanitation Directorate will be doing emergency repairs to a severely leaking 350mm diameter water main in the vicinity of the Somerset West Country Golf Course from 08:00 until 16:00 on Tuesday, 28 November 2023. This will require that the water supply to these areas be shut off to enable the maintenance team to do the repairs safely.
The Water and Sanitation maintenance team will be repairing a severely leaking 350mm diameter water pipeline which will result in the disruption of the water supply to these areas.
The necessary precautions have been taken to try and limit the impact as far as possible.
Residents in these areas are kindly requested to store enough water upfront for domestic consumption during this period and ensure that their taps are closed to prevent water loss and/or damage when the water supply is restored.
Water tankers will be roaming through these areas to provide water for domestic consumption.
The City sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused, but it is imperative that it maintains its water supply infrastructure to benefit its customers.
