City adds more buses to MyCiTi feeder routes in Atlantis
'The City of Cape Town is constantly monitoring the MyCiTi service to ensure that the time schedules correspond with the needs of commuters and that the number of buses during the peak-hour periods meet the passenger demand as far as possible. As such, we have decided to add extra buses to certain feeder routes in Atlantis during the peak-hour periods,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member: Transport for Cape Town, Councillor Brett Herron.

The following changes will take effect along some of the feeder routes as from Monday 29 February 2016:

Route 231 (Atlantis, Industria East) – an additional trip is added at 07:10 from the Atlantis station to the Louwtjie Rothman stop on weekdays

Route 232 (Atlantis, Industria West) – an additional bus is added to the route, with the first departure from the Johan Heyns North stop at 04:30 and the Atlantis station at 04:58 on weekdays. The headways along this route will be 12 minutes during the peak-hour periods, meaning commuters can expect a bus approximately every 12 minutes from 04:30 until 09:06 in the morning and from 14:18 until 18:54 in the early evening

Route 233 (Atlantis, Saxonsea) – an additional bus is added to the route, with the first departure from the Lisboa stop at 04:47 and the Atlantis station at 05:03 on weekdays. The headways along this route will be 10 minutes during the peak-hour periods, meaning commuters can expect a bus approximately every 10 minutes from 04:47 until 09:07 in the morning and from 15:10 until 19:00 in the early evening

Route 234 (Atlantis, Mamre) – an additional trip is added at 17:35 from the Atlantis station to the Crown stop on weekdays

Route 237 (Atlantis, Robinvale) – the frequencies along this route will be increased from 15 to 20 minutes to improve the timetable adherence of the service and to cater for delays

‘The intention of these changes is to ensure that our buses run on schedule and to reduce the time that commuters have to wait for a bus. I am confident that our residents in Atlantis will very soon experience the benefits. I do, however, want to request that commuters please be patient as it always takes a few days for the changes to settle in. Commuters should also please familiarise themselves with the new timetables,’ said Councillor Herron.

Commuters are requested to please contact the Transport Information Centre on 0800 65 64 63 for more information.
2016-02-24T22:00:00ZGP0|#e3c03ac1-845c-4119-815d-e796340463ba;L0|#0e3c03ac1-845c-4119-815d-e796340463ba|Community news;GTSet|#62efe227-07aa-45e7-944c-ceebacca891dGP0|#1596e104-b1e8-47f6-9db5-263896676e0a;L0|#01596e104-b1e8-47f6-9db5-263896676e0a|subcouncil;GTSet|#2e3de6c1-9951-4747-8f53-470629a399bb;GP0|#a33ad8c8-56f3-4de4-b0bd-af95fb899e66;L0|#0a33ad8c8-56f3-4de4-b0bd-af95fb899e66|transport for cape town;GP0|#ce03aded-5ee9-4610-9ef4-c0b676e202ea;L0|#0ce03aded-5ee9-4610-9ef4-c0b676e202ea|MyCiTi;GP0|#af13a260-b06d-419a-84b4-c48b72ae285a;L0|#0af13a260-b06d-419a-84b4-c48b72ae285a|Atlantis;GP0|#2fef5cac-86db-47b7-8776-bd713b1a8c03;L0|#02fef5cac-86db-47b7-8776-bd713b1a8c03|Mamre;GP0|#c87f86dc-0172-4f6e-882a-f1e4d56e33ba;L0|#0c87f86dc-0172-4f6e-882a-f1e4d56e33ba|Saxonsea1
