Children enjoy a day at the Opera | <p></p><span><p>Opera Blocks creates an opportunity for parents and little ones up to five years old to experience the theatre. </p><p>Around 200 parents, caregivers and children watched the magic of the opera come to life in the Artscape Theatre Centre's Chandelier Foyer on Saturday, 16 September 2023.<br></p>

We've had babies as young as two months enjoy the shows over the past year and a half. We keep investing in this brand as a way to educate and build an audience around Cape Town Opera,' said CTO Artistic Director, Magdalene Minnaar.</p><p> </p><p>Building on the success of Opera Blocks, the fourth session in this programme is Petals. <br></p>

<img src="https://resource.capetown.gov.za/cityassets/Media%20Images%202/Opera%20Blocks%202%20.JPG" class="responsive" alt="" style="width:949px;" /> </figure></span><span><p>Exploring the magical world of theatre, Petals brings music, song and play together in an exciting and explorative way using a garden theme. </p><p> </p><p>The idea of Petals draws from the beauty of nature and gardens, with colourful flowers, vibrant leaves, and towering trees as its source of inspiration. </p><p> </p><p>These musical play sessions are for parents and caregivers to bring babies and young children to sing, dance, play and have fun, while experiencing the benefits of classical music in their early developmental stages. </p><p> </p><p>The City's Arts and Culture Branch plans to have at least one more Opera Blocks session in this financial year. <br></p><p><br></p>
