These parks are some of the most popular parks in Cape Town and are enjoyed by families and dog lovers alike,’ said Cllr Beneke, who proposed the motion to upgrade the park.

Park upgrades

The CJ Langenhoven park was selected for upgrade as it was already fenced in and did not have any biodiversity value. It was also underutilised and the revamp will provide a much-needed facility for the community. The park upgrade was made possible thanks to a ward allocation grant from Cllr Leonore Van Der Walt (Ward 2) in the amount of R40 000 for the installation of bins, benches and other upgrades. The City’s Community Services Directorate will also provide funding of R60 000 for the provision of water points, cleansing and maintenance services.

Residents are invited to visit the park with their dogs and put the facility to good use.

2016-06-07T22:00:00ZGP0|#e3c03ac1-845c-4119-815d-e796340463ba;L0|#0e3c03ac1-845c-4119-815d-e796340463ba|Community news;GTSet|#62efe227-07aa-45e7-944c-ceebacca891dGP0|#1596e104-b1e8-47f6-9db5-263896676e0a;L0|#01596e104-b1e8-47f6-9db5-263896676e0a|subcouncil;GTSet|#2e3de6c1-9951-4747-8f53-470629a399bb;GP0|#edf0e3b8-f398-4bf8-a0ff-2f674175b062;L0|#0edf0e3b8-f398-4bf8-a0ff-2f674175b062|city parks;GP0|#0697441f-1d22-448b-b2a2-a992ed2a450a;L0|#00697441f-1d22-448b-b2a2-a992ed2a450a|Urban development1
