‘Tournament of Dreams’ scores big<span><p>The soccer tournament brought together senior teams from various clubs across the city.</p><p>What made this year's event even more successful was the introduction of 16 ladies teams – testament to the rapid growth and interest in women's football.</p><p>The support of the Recreation and Parks Department to the "Tournament of Dreams" has been a cornerstone of the event's success.<br></p> <figure class="subtopic-fullsize-img"> <img src="" class="responsive" alt="" style="width:949px;" /> </figure>​​</span><span><p>Now in its third year, the event has become a highlight on the local football calendar underscoring its significance in promoting sportsmanship, community participation and the development of football talent.</p><p> </p><p>The following teams walked away with top honours </p><p> </p><p>Men's category </p><ul><li>Team winners - Liverpool Portlands (LFA Mitchells Plain)</li><li>Team of the Tournament - Riverton (LFA Mitchells Plain)<br><br> <br><br>Ladies category</li></ul><ul><li>Team winners – Dangerous Heroes (Greater Phillipi LFA) </li></ul><ul><li>Team of the Tournament - Salt River Blackpool (Cape District FA)<br></li></ul> <figure class="subtopic-fullsize-img"> <img src="" class="responsive" alt="" style="width:949px;" /> </figure></span><span><p>Proceeds from the tournament will contribute to the ongoing development of young players in the under-six, under-eight and under-10 age groups.
