Resolution detail
RESOLVED that having considered the City of Cape Town Traffic Calming Policy and the recommendation from Transport Planning & Network Management Department;
-
Noordelik Avenue is a Class 4 Collector located within a medium-density residential area of Devil’s Peak Estate.
-
Our assessment indicated that Freesia Avenue Park is located along Noordelik Avenue, which may attract vulnerable pedestrian activity across the study roadway.
-
Therefore, the potential for pedestrian/vehicle conflict along Noordelik Avenue is considered low and non-compliant with Section 7(3) of the Traffic Calming Policy.
-
Given the above and considering the City of Cape Town Traffic Policy, we recommend the implementation of two speed humps in the vicinity of Freesia Avenue Park.
-
The above recommendations are illustrated in DRAWING 4620/TNDC3698/01.
