Our <a href="">Waste Services Department</a> provides each residential property with a 240-litre wheelie bin for waste disposal. </p><div class="notification with-heading dark-copy pink bg-light-grey"><div class="graphic with-border"> <i class="info note"></i> </div><div class="desc"><h4>Please note</h4><p> If you live in a sectional title property (e.g. a flat or townhouse) your body corporate should apply for enough wheelie bins for the complex/building. See our <a href="">City-wide tariffs</a> for more details. </p></div></div><div class="lrg-icon-content bordered"><div class="lrg-icon lrg-check"><p> <b>​​​​​​Tips for bin users:</b></p><ul><li>bag and seal any bandages and nappies before placing in your bin</li><li>disinfect your bin regularly</li><li>don’t put builder’s rubble (stones, rocks, sand), oil, metal (engine parts) or medical or <a href="">hazardous waste </a>in the bin - you can dispose of these items at <a href="">selected facilities</a>.</li><li>don't dispose of chemical or manufactured waste in the bin</li><li>place your bin on the pavement/ kerb from 6:00 on the scheduled collection day</li><li>seal your waste and place in the bin – not next to the bin or on the pavement</li><li>Separate your garden refuse, recyclables and builder’s rubble. Any extra bags left on top of, or next to the bin will not be collected. If you are producing too much waste for one bin, you can apply for a second wheelie bin.</p><h2 class="sectHeading">​​​​​​​​​​New or replacement wheelie bin​​​​​​​</h2><p>If you are renting property from us, you will need to visit your local <a href="">housing office</a> to apply for a new or replacement wheelie bin.
