As per Shannon Maree; Mr. Peter Gossman replied on 07 Jan 2020 to our Sub District that the NIA, and resulting sound abatement measures, were in order for Business License purposes. This reply was copied as well to the local Councillor (of then) as well as the Mayor’s Office (due to complaints).
The complaints were also investigated at the time.
In response to a request for further assessment, Mr. Anelisa Yani and myself recently inspected the site 3 times – once in the daytime and twice at night.
The last visit was scheduled to coincide with the normal end-of-month (payday) celebrations as this would normally be the time when late-night establishments are noising most.
We did not find any excessive noise emanating from Nu Era, but that neighbouring Pafos and Kalu’s were well causing some noise outbreak.
By copy of this email, I will also request for the Western Health SD to comment on the entertainment licensing of Pafos and Kalu’s.
Please note that Mr. Yani has requested from both your office as well as the Health SD for any complainant details that you may have, which we need for follow up noise control measurements – we have not yet received any complainant details.
