Ms Tasneem Hoosain (Social Development) was present for this item and explained the department’s function regarding field workers. She informed that they were a group of 8 officials (2 auxiliary and 6 field workers) who assisted people off the street with alcohol and drug abuse daily. Cllr Liell-Cock asked if the field workers could work till 8:00pm to assist the people off the street. Ms Hoosain replied that the department was in the process of setting up a hub where field workers could report to her. NOTED.
