The Subcouncil Manager Kayise Nombakuse informed the members of the current status of both Capital and Operating Ward Allocation projects’ expenditure as reflected on PCER. Responsible Line department officials also commented on various projects.
• CPX.0010808- F1- Ohio Sport Field- Mr S Adams reported that balance will be used for cricket nets.
• WPX.0009810- Recreational Programmes Ward 47 - Easter egg hunt event will be scheduled in April 2018.
• WPX.0009821 Sport Carnival- Mr S Adams reported that Easter planning sporting festival for ward 46 in progress.
• CPX.0010831-F1- Upgrade of NY 134 Park- Balance will be used to purchase bins and install signage. Cllr B Ngcombolo informed the Subcouncil members and officials that the play park equipment is of a poor quality and the officials need to check quality before procuring equipment.
• CPX.0010829-F1- Upgrade of Anthony Park Silvertown- Outdoor gym equipment has been installed. Order placed for signage, bins and outdoor gym equipment, awaiting delivery. Cllr Moses requested that the Park be cleaned so that it can look look dignified.
• CPX.0010830-F1- Upgrade Lenaria Road Park Silvertown- Project completed. Maintenance work to continue and the gate is to small. Cllr Moses asked that the official check the specifications.
• CPX.0012916-F1- Upgrade Parks Heideveld-Installation for the supply of nylon fencing at Rembrandt Park
• CPX.0003443-F1- Upgrade of Cockcomb Park-Orders placed for synthetic grass, fibre flex, hard surfacing and building works. Cllr Moses commended Phumza Mde for her hands on approach in dealing with City Parks projects.
• WPX.0009946- Capacity Building Programme-Event scheduled 04 April 2018 Peninsula tour. Subcouncil will issue indemnity forms to candidates’ in order to indemnify the City of Cape Town out of Transport liability.
• WPX.0009902- Job Creation-Employed 8 workers
• WPX.0010110- Sports Tournament Youth - Cllr Ngcombolo office to facilitate a meeting between the Ward Councillor and the officials in order to craft a plan in implementing the above project. Mr Thabo Bidla scheduled event during Easter weekend. Action: P. Gxasheka.T. Bidla
• Upgrade of Jungle Park, Contractor does not want to work in the area due to safety reasons. Ms L January has been tasked to lead the way forward on the matter.
• CPX.0004312-F1- Contractor is expected on site by first week in June 2018 should there be no appeals. Only consultants’ fees to be claimed by end June 2017. R2 936 000 to be reprioritised to other priority projects within the Directorate namely Heideveld ECD. In the next financial year 2018/2019 the funds will be redirected back to Ward 47 Hanover Park.
• Job Readiness Programme/Youth Organisational Skills Ward 40 and Ward 44 joint event scheduled to Hermanus camping site scheduled 15-17June 2018, focus Capacity building for children. Mr A Abrahams to schedule a meeting with Cllr A Moses and B Ngcombolo to discuss logistics.
