Resolution detail

Cllr Punt pointed out that on Part E of the report, the areas listed under Ward 83 were incorrect and do not form part of the Ward. Cllr Middleton pointed out that the community was not happy with the service delivery at the Clinic. He said that they complained that by 10:00 they are no longer helped. He said that medicine collection is problematic at Gordon’s Bay Clinic and that people have complained that their medicine is sent away if it is not collected on a certain day. Dr De Azevido apologized for the mistake on Ward 83 and said this error would be corrected. She confirmed that a doctor is going to the Clinics twice a week to address diseases of lifestyle. With regard the issuing of medicines she said that there is a project with the Provincial Department whereby they use the Clinics as pick-up points for their patrons to collect their medication. She said that Gordons Bay Clinic is a small facility that does not have adequate storage space for the Provincial Medication to be stored there. She committed to see how this issue could be addressed. With regard to people being turned away by 10:00 she mentioned that people arrive at the clinics very early in the morning without a set appointment and wait in long queues. She said that they are implementing an appointment system at all their facilities in order to avoid patrons having to wait without having the assurance that they will be seen. She said that she would arrange an appointment with Cllr Middleton to see how they could address his complaints. RESOLVED (a) That the Quarterly Report Oct – Dec 2017 BE NOTED. (b) That the issue of Provincial Department medication being returned before patients can collect it from the Clinics BE ADDRESSED by Dr De Azevido. (c) That a meeting BE ARRANGED by Dr De Azevido with Cllr Middleton to discuss the issues he had raised. INFORMATION: ALL ACTION: DR V DE AZEVIDO
