RESOLVED 1. That it BE NOTED that the following requests for traffic calming measures were received. Ald G Twigg, Ward 7 Northpine Drive, including • The four-way stop on Northpine Drive & Littlewood Way, Pingrove Road; • The three-way stop on Northpine Drive & Eastwood Drive; • The four way stop on Northpine Drive & Ridgeview Close/Spaarden Way; • All stop street intersections between the Shell garage and Northpine shopping Centre. 2. That is BE NOTED that the following assessment for the Implementation of traffic calming measures were undertaken by the Transport Network Development: North Department in terms of the City of Cape Town’s Traffic Calming Policy and the outcome thereof were as follows: a) Plantation Road, Belmont Park (Ward 111) • Installation of two speed humps to be implemented on plantation road; • 1 speed hump between 6th and 7th Avenues”; • And 1 speed hump between 3rd and 4th Avenues” b) Reservoir Street, Brackenfell (Ward 7) (i) Section 1: Reservoir Street between Sauvignon street and Kruin Road; • Does not meet the requirements specified in section 7(3) of the traffic calming policy. (ii) Section 2: Reservoir Street between Kruin road and Kruisfontein Road; • One speed hump at the Reservoir/Koedoe Street intersection in the interest of pedestrian safety. (iii) Section 3: Reservoir Street between Kruisfontein Road and Buitekant Street; • No additional traffic calming measures should be considered due to the negative impact of raised measures on heavy vehicles payloads. 3. That the TDA Directorate BE REQUESTED to make monies available for implementation of the traffic calming measures where recommended in resolution (1) above. ACTION: DARREN WILLENBERG/AMELIA VAN RHYN
