Cllr J Fitz said that he is happy that the Metro South East Cemetery project will be implemented. Cllr C Heynes said she is not happy with the comment regarding the cemetery project and asked for clarity on it. Mr Sonnenberg responded that as per a meeting held with Susan Brice, she indicated that the Department will start with the project on the portion of land that belongs to the City and the other funds will be reallocated due to the other portion not owned by the City. Cllr C Heynes requested an updated report regarding the Forest Village (Blue Downs) project. She also said that it is unacceptable of officials for not attending Subcouncil meetings. Cllr S Oerson requested updated reports regarding the Upgrading of Park in Ward 17 and Job Creation – Park Maintenance Ward 17 projects. Mr Mbusi from Recreation & Parks stated that the Job Creation project had some problems as the Department of Finance needs to move the funding into a correct vote number. He further said that the Upgrade of Parks project is work in progress and the contractor is busy on site and once invoices are forwarded they will be processed accordingly. Cllr S Oerson requested the official to invite her to the project site as she wants to see the progress made so far to this project. RESOLVED That the Progressive Capital Expenditure report as at the end of February 2017, BE NOTED.
