Resolution details

UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED that:

a. The application for consent use in terms of Section 42(i) of the City of Cape Town, Municipal Planning By-Law, 2015, in order to permit the erection of a freestanding cellular telecommunications base station, comprising of a 25m high monopole mast, 18 x panel antennae attached to the mast, 3 x microwave transmission dishes, 4 x associated equipment containers, and a 2.4m high palisade fence enclosing the compound on a portion of Erf 82, 11 Faure Street, Eerste River, BE REFUSED in terms of Section 98(c) of the City of Cape Town Municipal Planning By-Law, 2015.

b. The application for permanent departures in terms of Section 42(b) of the City of Cape Town Municipal Planning By-Law, 2015, in order to permit the freestanding cellular telecommunications base station to be erected 0m in lieu of 5m from Faure Street and 1m in lieu of 5m from the north common boundary, on erf 82, 11 Faure Street, Eerste River, BE REFUSED in terms of Section 98(c) of the City of Cape Town Municipal Planning By-Law, 2015.

REASONS FOR DECISION
The MPT REFUSED the application for the reasons set out in the Planner’s Report.
