RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY
a. That the application in terms of Section 42(i) of the City of Cape Town’s Municipal Planning By-Law, 2015 for a consent use in order to permit the erection of a freestanding cellular communication base station comprising the following:
• A 21m high monopole mast
• 9 X antennae
• 3x associated equipment containers, and a
• 2.4m high palisade fence enclosing the base station
on Erf 34444, Mitchell’s Plain, BE APPROVED in terms of Section 98(b)iii of the City of Cape Town Municipal Planning By-Law, 2015, subject to the conditions attached as Annexure A.
CONDITIONS TO BE IMPOSED IN TERMS OF SECTION 100 OF THE BY-LAW AS PART OF THE CONSENT APPROVAL
Condition 2.1 and 2.8 is amended as follows:
DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT
2.1 That an amended sketch plan showing the mast along the western boundary/ building of the school and indicating a mast with maximum height of 21m and provision for co-location for additional service providers shall be submitted to the satisfaction of Director: Development Management.
2.8 That the service provider / operator / lessee shall remove all decommissioned infrastructure, and where the site has been disturbed, shall rehabilitate the site to its original state or a state acceptable to the Director: Development Management
ADDITIONAL CONDITION:
3 That a water wise Landscaping plan be submitted to the satisfaction of the Director: Development Management, to be implemented within 6 months of the completion of the construction of the cell mast.
REASONS FOR DECISION:
The MPT APPROVED the application for the reasons set out in the Planner’s report.
